How it works

Four steps to peace of mind.

No solicitor appointments. No confusing forms. Just a simple guided process that takes less time than your morning coffee.

01

Tell us about you

Answer plain-English questions about your beneficiaries, assets, executors, and wishes. Most people finish in under 10 minutes.

02

We draft your will

Our system generates a legally compliant document from your answers, structured to meet the requirements of the Wills Act 1837.

03

Sign & witness

Print your will, sign it, and have two witnesses sign alongside you. We provide a clear guide on exactly how to do this correctly.

04

Stored in your vault

Your signed will lives in your encrypted digital vault. Update it whenever life changes. Share access with your executor anytime.

Security you can trust

Serious security.
Human-grade simplicity.

Your will is one of the most important documents you'll ever create. We protect it like it matters — because it does.

AES-256 Encryption

Industry-standard AES-256 encryption protects every document in your vault, both in transit and at rest.

UK Data Centres Only

Your data is stored exclusively in UK data centres. It never leaves UK jurisdiction.

Wills Act 1837 Compliant

Every will is generated to comply with the Wills Act 1837 — the legal standard for valid wills in England and Wales.

Redundant Backups

Your data is backed up across multiple secure locations. Your will is never at risk of being lost.

Biometric App Lock

Face ID and fingerprint authentication keeps your vault accessible to you — and only you — on your device.

Privacy by Design

We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. Your most sensitive information stays yours.

Simple pricing

Simple, honest pricing.

A traditional solicitor charges £150–£600 for a basic will. We think that's broken.

FAQ

Got questions? Good.

Is a will made with Simply Will legally binding?

Yes. Our wills are structured to comply with the Wills Act 1837 and are legally binding once properly signed and witnessed by two eligible witnesses.

How long does it take?

Most people complete their will in under 10 minutes. You can save your progress and return at any time — there's no pressure to finish in one sitting.

Can I update my will after I've paid?

Yes. Your first 12 months of updates are included with Complete. After that, updates continue for £9.99/yr — entirely optional, and cancelling never affects the signed will and PDF you've already got in your vault.

What is Vault Validation and do I need it?

It's an optional one-off add-on that lets your named executor request access to your vault when the time comes. Every request is manually reviewed against a death certificate before anything is unsealed — your vault stays sealed and private until then.

What happens to my data?

Your data is encrypted with AES-256 encryption and stored exclusively in UK data centres. We handle all personal data in accordance with UK GDPR. We never sell your data or share it with third parties. Ever.

Do I still need a solicitor?

For straightforward estates, many people find a DIY will sufficient. For complex situations — business interests, overseas property, trusts, or blended families — we'd always recommend seeking independent legal advice. We'll flag if your situation may benefit from specialist input.

Who can witness my will?

Any two adults who are not named as beneficiaries in your will, and are not married to or in a civil partnership with a beneficiary. We include a detailed witness guide with your completed will so you get this right first time.
